I never had a problem with e2m9, its just a fun simple map! Playing in vanilla and the blood becomes an issue, its just a really boring map IMO, going from one of the best mpas in the game (mt erebus) to limbo its a massive step back. And then there's the part where there's lost souls in the pits on the final stretch to the exit that will knock you off the highwire and into the inescapable pits of sludge. I do think the Chasm was pretty stupid though, if only because the constant balancing acts slow the pace at times to a crawl. You have no excuse for not knowing where to go already at this point. I do think the teleporter 'puzzle' would be a bit annoying to figure out the first time, but the thing is you can't really fault these games for that at this point because the game is turning 20 years old this year. The music is one of my favorite tracks in the game and the blood pools aren't REALLY an issue so long as you minimize time spent in them by bunny hopping across, or rationing the extremely large supply of radiation suits provided for you in the narrow tunnels where you get the red key.
